The unique climate and geography of the Empordà is perfect for the cultivation of the prestigious Figueres onion. Known throughout the country, it differs from other onions thanks to its sweeter and milder taste, the soft texture and, above all, its characteristic lilac colour. It is commonly found in sautés and also raw in salads.
